Welcome to the the concept home of the
Jewish Studies Academic Commons
The Jewish Studies Academic Commons is a concept project that will enable collaboration, sharing and increased awareness of the breadth, depth , accessibility and availability of related materials within the field of academic Jewish studies.
The Jewish Studies Academic Commons will play a pivotal role in the ever developing field of Jewish studies by providing a forum where individuals, scholars, students and others may deposit academic papers, theses and multimedia projects whereby allowing worldwide access to materials that may be scarce, unavailable or simply not cataloged in university library systems- such as undergraduate and MA level projects. While doctoral dissertations are generally accessible those at the undergraduate and MA levels often are unavailable - some such work proves valuable research that is oft known to few.
This project seeks to continue to develop alongside technological advances incorporating relevant Web 2.0, 3.0+ and beyond. Sharing of information is key to building bridges between researchers, academic programs, creation of conferences, lectures and programs for the future.
This project is a Poster Session presentation for the Association of Jewish Libraries convention in Pasadena, California, June 2012.
